What the Fair Credit Reporting Act guarantees you
Every American consumer has these rights, whether or not you hire a credit repair company.
The right to dispute
You can dispute inaccurate or incomplete information directly with any credit bureau, free of charge.
A reasonable investigation
Bureaus must generally investigate within 30 days and remove information that can’t be verified.
Time limits on negative items
Most negative information must come off after 7 years. Most bankruptcies, after 10.
Free credit reports
You can get free reports from all three bureaus at AnnualCreditReport.com.
Notice of adverse action
If you’re denied credit based on your report, the lender must tell you which bureau it used.
The right to seek damages
When a bureau or creditor violates the FCRA, you may be able to recover damages in court.
Credit repair FAQ
Straight answers to common questions
Is credit repair legal?
Yes. Credit repair is regulated by the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act. You also have the right to dispute errors yourself for free. We make the process faster, more thorough and easier to manage.
How long does credit repair take?
Each dispute round usually takes 30 to 45 days. Many files need more than one round. Your timeline depends on how many items are disputed and how the bureaus respond.
Can you remove accurate negative items?
No, and any company that promises this is misleading you. We dispute items that are inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or unverifiable.
How much does credit repair cost?
Pay-Per-Dispute is $50 per dispute, per bureau. Full-service plans are $99 or $199 per month. You are never charged before the work is performed.
Will disputing hurt my credit score?
No. Filing a dispute does not lower your credit score, and our credit analysis does not create a hard inquiry.
Which plan is right for me?
A few errors: Pay-Per-Dispute. Several negative items across bureaus: Done-For-You. Repeated verifications, identity theft or suspected violations: FCRA Advanced.
Can I cancel?
Yes. You can cancel within 3 business days of signing without penalty, and cancel any monthly plan at any time after that.
What if a bureau broke the law?
On the FCRA Advanced plan, if we find evidence your rights were violated, we can refer you to an independent consumer protection attorney for a case review.
Is Aunify a lender?
No. Aunify helps you get funding-ready and connects you with lending partners. The lenders make all credit decisions and set every rate and term.
Does a funding readiness check affect my credit?
No. Our review does not create a hard inquiry. A lender may run a hard inquiry when you submit a formal application, and we’ll tell you before that happens.
